Opened in October 2017, Kyoto 27 is situated opposite Reikan-ji near Philosopher's path. Established by Hong Kong designer Alan Chan, who has been in the creative industry for 50 years, this two-storey house aims to promote arts and crafts in Kyoto through various art and cultural exhibition and events twice a year during cherry blossom seasons.
Through supporting young generation in understanding and preserving Kyoto’s rich heritage and fading craftsmanship, this can encourage communication among artists, craftsmen, university students in local communities across Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Hence, becoming an art and cultural destination in Kyoto for local and overseas visitors.
