    2017 Milan Design Week

    Alan Chan is invited by CONFLUENCE • 20+ to exhibit his contemporary furniture design - The SILKROAD Collection in Milan, after the previous show in Italy at Expo Milano 2015. “SILKROAD” (S Chair) is inspired by the 17th Century Victorian courting bench, yet reinterpreted with Asian aesthetics where the backrest resembles that of Kyoto bamboo forest, each piece is handcrafted in dark walnut wood. The first edition of Confluence • 20+ will be staged at Milan’s Triennale Museum coincide with the 2017 Milan Design Week until 16th April 2017. In order to celebrate the design excellence of Hong Kong, the exhibition will be touring back to Hong Kong then to Seoul and Chicago this year.     This UNDONE x Topdesign Asia collaboration, UNDONE “BLANK”, brings together 6 veteran designers: Alan Chan (Hong Kong), Theseus Chan (Singapore), Noritake (Japan), Ordinary People (South Korea), Ryosuke Uehara (Japan) and Zhi-Hong Wang (Taiwan); to reinterpret the meaning we give to “time”, an intimate exercise in personal storytelling unbound by rule of convention. ⁠
