The logotype’s minimal composition reflects the Museum’s clean and extensive space. It also evokes a sophisticated but approachable image of the Museum which is located at the heart of the booming Shanghai.
From the historic exterior outlook of the building to the contemporary art collection of the Museum, the neutral form of the logotype stands the test of time as it matches harmoniously with the past and present. Besides, the letter A in the logotype has the middle stroke omitted to have the typography looks cleaner. It reminds people of the spaciousness of the Museum and its role of cultivating visitors’ appreciation of art and culture.
